Walking in Beauty: Closing Prayer from the Navajo Way Blessing Ceremony
In beauty I walk
With beauty before me I walk
With beauty behind me I walk
With beauty above me I walk
With beauty around me I walk
It has become beauty again
Today I will walk out; today everything negative will leave me
I will be as I was before; I will have a cool breeze over my body.
I will have a light body; I will be happy forever, nothing will hinder me.
I walk with beauty before me.
I walk with beauty behind me.
I walk with beauty below me.
I walk with beauty above me.
I walk with beauty around me.
My words will be beautiful.
In beauty all day long may I walk.
Through the returning seasons, may I walk.
On the trail marked with pollen may I walk.
With dew about my feet, may I walk.
With beauty before me may I walk.
With beauty behind me may I walk.
With beauty below me may I walk.
With beauty above me may I walk.
With beauty all around me may I walk.
In old age wandering on a trail of beauty, lively, may I walk.
In old age wandering on a trail of beauty, living again, may I walk.
My words will be beautiful…
Working the Medicine of this Gathering
All that was planned in this Gathering was the reading of the beautiful Navajo Prayer, ‘Walking in Beauty.’
What transpired was the flow words expressing the depth of emotions of Spirit for all that has happened around the world, especially regarding the trauma of both the past and present and the abuse humans, the twisted death of Patriarchy, while looking at how we need to stand tall and become Empowered Agents of Change.
Therefore this week it is important that we keep the Medicine of this Gathering alive.
During this week, every day: Send Blessings of Love and Receptivity to the World. Bless all of our Brothers and Sisters for discovering Compassion and the acceptance of understanding that we are all connected. It is not about Us v.s. Them. Instead, Bless them for discovering the Power to Speak their Truth, doing so in a Good Way without unneeded violence and destruction of property.
And this week: Walk in Beauty. Be Grateful of the small things, because some of those small things are Big Things to others. For example, your ability to breathe.
And for always: BE Kind. Strive to BE the best you that you can BE. Speak with your actions. The kindness of a smile will carry you and others for many miles.
Talk to your children. Talk to your Grandchildren. Be honest with them and soothe their fears. How you handle things will have far reaching effects on your progeny.
And feel free to contact me if you need anything.
